ANUNCIO DE LA CAMINATA MIGRANTE (English below)
Hoy en la tarde, en el Parque de Pijijiapan, Chiapas, se reunieron integrantes de la Caminata Migrante. Se escucharon voces clamando:
¡No queremos tren! ¡Venimos en familia! ¡Transporte digno!
Se tomaron dos decisiones importantes:
PRIMERA:
Los siguientes puntos de la ruta serán: Arriaga, Tapanatepec, Juchitán y Tehuantepec.
SEGUNDA:
Tres exigencias fueron planteadas por la gente:
1) No a la exigencia de visas. Que las personas centroamericanas tengan derecho de entrar a México y que se les trate de la misma forma como se tratan a los mexicanos cuando viajan a Centroamérica
2) Permisos de trabajo. Que las personas con posibilidades de empleo en México sean otorgados autorización para trabajar.
3) Talleres informativos sobre refugio y cambios en la COMAR. Solicitan talleres en la Ciudad de México para así recibir información verídica sobre el proceso de solicitar la condición de refugiado. También exigen que el sistema de COMAR sea más ágil y humano. ¡Trato real de refugiadas y refugiados!
La gente de la Caminata Migrante agradece al pueblo chiapaneco por la hospitalidad y apoyo que han recibido, y hace un llamado de solidaridad a las comunidades nombradas anteriormente hacia las cuales se dirigen a que les reciban con el apoyo que necesitarán, como son comida, agua, atención médica, refugio de la lluvia, zapatos, acceso a baños, etc.
Pueblo Sin Fronteras, como organización, nos solidarizamos con las personas que forman esta Caminata Migrante y con sus declaraciones.
Hacemos un llamado a toda la sociedad a que nos unamos a sus exigencias y que nos organicemos para brindar acompañamiento, información sobre derechos humanos, y asesoría legal, y que salgamos de nuestras casas para brindar una mano solidaria.
ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE CAMINATA MIGRANTE
Today, in the afternoon, in the Pijijiapan Park in Chiapas, members of the Caminata Migrante gathered. Voices were heard crying out:
We don’t want the train! (referring to the deadly cargo train used by migrants for years to travel North) We’re traveling as families! Transportation with dignity!
Two important decisions were made:
FIRST:
The following stops on the route will be: Arriaga, Tapanatepec, Juchitán and Tehuantepec.
SECOND:
Three demands were proposed by the people:
1 ) No more visas. Central Americans should have the right to enter Mexico and be treated the same way Mexicans are treated when they travel to Central America.
2 ) Work permits. Those with options for work in Mexico should be granted employment authorization.
3 ) Informational workshops on refuge and improvements to the Mexican Refugee Aid Commission (COMAR). They request workshops in Mexico City to receive accurate information about the process of requesting asylum, and they demand that the COMAR be made more efficient and humane. True refugee treatment!
The people of the Caminata Migrante thank the people of Chiapas for the hospitality and support they have received, and they call for solidarity with the towns mentioned above, towards which they are currently heading, to prepare the support that they will need, such as food, water, medical attention, shelter from rain, shoes, access to bathrooms, etc.
As an organization, Pueblo Sin Fronteras stands in solidarity with the people on the Caminata Migrante and with their statements.
We call on the whole society to come together and join their demands, and to organize to be able to offer accompaniment, human rights information, legal orientation, and for us all to come out into the streets and show solidarity.
